Grass clippings is such a good description! I've also made vile green concoctions (arugula pesto comes immediately to mind) that reminded me exactly of grass clippings. Actually, grass clippings that had begun to compost.

Bacon, blue cheese and basil muffins however sound amazingly good.

Chiming in belatedly... it's sad about the soup because it's *so pretty*! I made a soup a few months ago that was supposed to be a curried butternut squash soup. I'm not sure what went wrong with it, but it was awful. I haven't been able to bring myself to try the Thai red curry paste I bought for it again, it was that awful. And it was pretty too, much like your soup, only orange!

It reminds me of an early cooking experiment, when I made a Persian spinach soup. My beloved father tasted it and said, "It tastes awfully...green."
