On this day last year, my little blog was born. At that time I told myself to give it a year and if I didn't like it, I would quit. Quit? Not when I've met so many wonderful people from around the world. As I discovered, food blogging is more than just writing about recipes, it's a community of people who share their highs and lows, their births and weddings, and offer help and encouragement when needed.
I started this blog with a bit of trepidation, wondering if I would be met with scorn. Well, I found nothing but kindness and good will, and that's a great thing. I thank everyone who helped me when I needed advice. Finally, I feel enormous gratitude to everyone who took the time to read my blog and leave comments. Thank you, thank you all.
Oh--and I really will try to compile a recipe index, Shannon. I promise!
Happy Blogday!
Thanks for sharing such great recipes, amusing cat commentary, and special extras like the baby squirrel updates. Your blog is a pleasure to read and I look forward to what the coming year will bring.

Oh my, Sher, really, scorn? As a community, that's not good, even if it turned out otherwise! Happy Blog Day! AK

Happy anniversary! And I agree with every single word you have written, the food blog community is about more than food, it's a way of life!

Happy Blogday, Sher! I've loved reading your blog over the past year. Your photographs are stunning (can you please come to my house and teach me how to photograph food, because I absolutely suck at it), and your recipes are amazing. Here's to another great year ahead!

Julie,
Thank you! I look forward to the next year too! With your blog as well.
Alanna,
Thank you!!! :)
Ilva,
Yes, I think the world would be a little better if more people blogged and "met" each other online. The world becomes much closer that way. (I hope.)
Aria,
Thank you! :) Yes--I swear that I will do that index. I'm so computer challenged!
Lisa,
Thank you! It's been so much fun meeting so many great people.
Jaye,
Thank you so much! That's so encouraging! :) Upsie says thanks too.
Jeff,
Thanks. :) (I made chili--just like you!)
Kristi,
Thank you so much about the photos, but I barely know how to take them myself. I usually take around 60 pictures to get one decent image!!! :):)
Christine,
LOL!!! I wondered if you would spot that it was a Konditorie tart. :):) I told the owner today that you recognized it. Thanks!
Burcu,
Thank you! :)
Callipygia,
Thank you! I just discovered your blog too--and marvel at it.
Gattina,
Thank you! :) It's such a pleasure to read your blog and see your creations.
Kalyn,
Thank you so much. You've been so encouraging. Utah is pretty close, you know? :)
Shannon,
Thanks! Yes, we're baby bloggers! I just know that index will happen. :):)
CookieCrumb,
Thank you!! And say hi to George Clooney--I know you two are friends. :)
Mary,
Thank you! I'll think of you this weekend when I buy a lemon square at the farmer's market!
Annulla,
Thanks! I'm learning so much about New York City and Brooklyn from your blog.
